Ok so I found out via a Facebook friend about a secret sale at Safeway/Vons! It is in WA and NV, I can confirm that!
Kellogg's Cereals are on sale for 2.49, but if you buy 4 or more, they take a dollar off each box for 1.49 a box! My friend got Nutrigrain bars, so those are working too.
In last Sunday's paper, there was a Kellogg's insert with all sorts of coupons. We didn't get it (because Las Vegas is lame and leaves out everything but the SmartSource from the paper!!) so I got some from Ebay. The coupons were all $1/2 of certain items (cereal, fruit snacks, nutrigrain, kellogg's bars, Eggo waffles, etc.). Plus there is a rebate form to get back $10 when you send in 10 proofs of purchase plus a $70 coupon for Dell.
So here we go. Go get 10 items that are included in the 1.49 deal (shelf tag will specify). Use coupons from that insert. If you use 5 $1/2 coupons, you will walk out paying 9.90 for all 10 items, then you can send the POP in for the $10 rebate, for a profit of $0.10!!
Even if you don't have the insert coupons, you will walk out paying $14.90, and get your $10 rebate, making them .49 a box, still a great deal! Oh and some of the boxes have $1/1 peelie coupons, so keep an eye out for those!
This time of year always has awesome cereal sales. We go through probably 5 boxes a week, so I always stock up. The expiration dates on all I have gotten this week and last week (General Mills at Albertsons last week) are all for March-June of next year. My 'buy' price for cereal is $1 a box, so I actually bought about 36 boxes today. So 1o of them will be free and the other ones will have been .99 a box after my coupons, which is a great deal for us!
Here is another deal for Walgreens. They have these 'Back to School' coupon flyers at the front of the store. Inside, is a coupon for $2/1 Huggies wipes 64ct or larger. I got enough coupons for 60 boxes on Ebay for about $3.
From what I've read, the price varies, some stores they are 2.79, mine was 3.29. I did get 2 boxes the other day, as I had 2 coupons for .50/1. So with the $2/1 Wags coupon and the .50/1 MQ, they ended up being $0.79 a box! Not too shabby! This comes at a great time, as we are out of my stash from January 2008! :) Plus Huggies wipes are the only ones I will use. There aren't many things I'm brand loyal to, but I like my Huggies wipes and Pampers Dipes!
If you have the space, stock up! This Walgreens $2/1 coupon is good through 8/29. Keep in mind that with those coupons, they just need to scan it, they don't keep them. So hang on to that flyer! Since Walgreens doesn't carry tons of stock and I don't want to clear the shelf, I plan to see if they will order 60 boxes for me. If not, we are lucky enough to have many different stores around and since there is lots of time, I'll just get a few boxes here and there over the next few weeks.

Safeway, Albertsons and CVS Deals
I even have one you guys can get in on :) It's only good through Tuesday, so run!
Nestle Pure Life Water 24pks are on sale for 3.99 at Safeway.
Print off $1/1 coupons here, you should be able to print off 2 from each computer you have access to. I have 3 printing computers, so I was able to get 6.
Grab 5 cases of the water.
For each 5 you buy, you will get an instant $5 off (Safeway promo) and a $5 off your next order catalina coupon will print off. To sweeten the deal, there is a rebate in the package. For sending in proofs of purchases, you get MORE cases of water...FREE! For 5 proofs of purchase, they will send you coupons for TWO cases of free water!
Here is how it boils down:
5 cases of water = 19.95
-$5 Safeway instant promo
-$5 ($1/1 coupons x 5)
Total you will pay is 9.95 and you will get a $5 OYNO catalina, for a net of $4.95 for 5 cases of water! THEN, send in your 5 proofs of purchases and you end up with 2 more cases, making 7 cases of water for $4.95!
The water here is horrible, so I am loving this cheap water! I'm hoping to get in there and do it once more, you can send up to 10 proofs of purchase in.
If you can only print the 2 coupons, you can either get 3 other things that qualify for the instant $5 off promo (there are lots) or just buy 5 cases anyway.
Even if you don't have ANY $1/1 coupons, you still will end up with 7 cases for $9.95.
Also went to Albertsons and was pretty pleased to have saved 68.3% on my bill! I spent $78.30 and saved 168.52. I've done a lot of stocking up this past week, so we are good for a bit :)

I got all this plus 4 two liter bottles of Dr. Pepper for just $2.88!

More free school supplies!

At first I wasn't going to go get them as I know free pens are dime a dozen this time of year and the rest is stuff my kids won't need or use. But I decided that since its free, I'm just going to keep buying all the free stuff and just donate it to the kids' school...I'm sure the older kids use this stuff.
I had posted last week about Walgreens. I never ended up going back, too lazy LOL But here is what I scored througout the week:
6 pkg Pull Ups (Aaron wears them for nap and bedtime)8 bottles of Coppertone
2 scissors
1 pkg mechanical pencils
2 pkg index cards (not pictured)
For all that, I spent a grand total of $42.79 with tax!
Full Retail cost would have been $180.81
Savings of $138.02 or 76%!

Free school supplies!
Here is my loot:

Here is the proof!! The receipt on the left shows a total of $0.02, and the one on the right zip, nada, zilch! Pretty cool, eh? In the middle are my Extra Care Bucks. Just so you know what they look like. Because I know you were wondering.

One cool thing here is that you pay tax on the POST-coupon amount, unlike in WA, where you pay tax on the PRE-coupon amount. Whenever something was free with coupons up there, I always had to pay the tax. Here, it's just flat out FREE!
Everything in that picture was FREE after the ECB. I paid using some I had earned last week, so the only money that came out of my pocket was $0.02! I started off with $15 ECB and have $14.98 to use in the next month.
So you want a deal to? Ok, I'll give you one. Or two.
Walgreens.
Coppertone is on special this week. For every 2 that you buy, you get a $10 Register Reward, good on your next NON Coppertone purchase.
Here, the sprays are 10.99 and the Nutrishield is $11.49. Your price may vary!
Anyway, I usually prefer the spray, but can't resist lotion for $1.49 each!
Here's how:
Print off 2 (or however many you want, since you can just change your print amount to whatever number your little heart desires, mine desired 10 of them) of these coupons: Coppertone $5 off Nutrishield
If that link doesn't work, its on the front page of the Coppertone Website
**quick note on coupon links...I use Firefox. If you are using IE, you will need to change the 'wg' to 'wi' and it should work then.**
Go grab 2 of the Coppertone Nutrishields and bring them and your coupons to the register.
It will look like this:
11.49
11.49
Total: 22.98
- 5.00
- 5.00
Total: 12.98 plus tax and you also get $10RR
NET of $2.98 (plus tax) for both!!
You can get the sprays too. It's not AS good of a deal, but it works. I have seen tearpad coupons at CVS and Walgreens for $1/1 Coppertone.
$10.99
$10.99
Total $21.98 (if you stop here, you get a $10 RR, netting $5.99 a bottle)
- $1/1
-$1/1
Total 19.98 plus a $10 RR
NET of $9.98 for 2 or $4.99 each
We are going through sunscreen like crazy here. I normally prefer the spray but since I got them those handy dandy rash guard shirts, its much easier to apply lotion and they prefer that anyway. So I'm stockin' up!
Another deal is huggies. They are on sale for $10 for a Jumbo pack of diapers, pullups, and wipes are 2/$5. Buy $20 worth and get a $5 RR. There are printables for Huggies too:
$3/1 pullups
.50/1 wipes
-$1.50 off Huggies Diapers, SS 6/21
-$2 off Huggies Pull-Ups, SS 6/14 and 5/17,
-.75/1 Huggies Baby Wipes, 64 ct+, SS 4/19, 6/21
-.50/1 Huggies Baby Wipes 64 ct+, June All You Mag
*Note on coupons...I use Firefox for my links. It's just what I use, mmmkay? Anyway, if you are using IE, change the 'wg' in the link to 'wi' and it will print :)**
I've been rolling the RR's to keep my out of pocket low. More on that tomorrow.

My Safeway buys!
Tonight I ran to Safeway. It was the last night of their sale.
Before sales and coupons, this would have cost $86.50.
I paid $20.50 and got four $2 OYNO catalinas ($8 value), so a net of $12.50.
That is an 85% savings!

How it broke down:
$32.00 Crystal Light (sale price $2 x 16)
$5.00 Rice A Roni (sale price $1.25 x 4)
$12.50 Pasta (sale price $1.25 x 10)
----
$49.50 Sale Prices
-$15 Safeway Promo (Get $5 for each 10 items you buy, I bought 30)
-$8 Crystal Light Printable ($1/2 x 8)
-$1 Rice A Roni ($1/4 MFQ)
-$5 Pasta ($0.50/1 x 10 Blinkie MFQ)
----
$20.50 plus $8 in catalina coupons (I think it was $2 off for each 4 Crystal Light you buy)
Not too shabby, eh?
Now dinner tonight...
I'm going to toot my horn a little bit :) I made the most AMAZING chicken tonight. It was so good. Why was it so good? ALL FOUR KIDS ATE IT. Did you get that? ALL FOUR of them. Not one, not two or three, but four. That is totally a rare moment in our house. In fact, I'm not sure it has even happened before. And it was so easy.
At 1:00, I thought I should put something in the crockpot. I put in two huge frozen chicken breasts.
Then, I took a carton of V-8 Southwest Corn soup...

...and smothered those boobies. Put the crockpot on high and let it go. About 4:00, I shredded the chicken a little bit, and let it continue to cook. About an hour later, I made up some Rice A Roni Rice Pilaf and served that with the chicken. Oops. Forgot a veggie. There's corn in the soup though, right?
Anyway, the chicken was SO SO SO good. So moist and tasty. You should try it sometime. Guess how much it cost? $3.74. Yep, 3 dollars and 74 cents. The chicken was $1.99, soup was $1.00 and the rice was $0.75. Had I been thinking, I would have added a $0.24 package of broccoli steamers for a $3.99 dinner. Not too shabby!

My Kmart Double Coupon deals
So Kmart is doing this double coupon promotion, where they will double coupons up to $2.00 in value. I went yesterday and came home with this:
3 pkg Quaker 'Quakes' FREE (1.99 - $1/1 doubled)
8 10pks of Ziploc Zip N Steam bags $1.49 (2.99 - $1.50/2 doubled)
4 boxes of Ziploc Snack bags $1.69 (3.19 - .75/1 doubled)
1 bottle Fantastik spray $0.69 (2.69- $1/1 doubled)
Swiffer Starter set 6.99 (9.99 - $2/1 doubled)
24pk Swiffer Wet Refill Pads FREE (8.49 - Free WYB Starter set)
Total before coupons was $69.xx, after was $29.xx.
Not too shabby! The ziploc bags were slightly more than I normally would pay but we use those steaming bags several times a week and I'm almost out. I had a coupon that would have netted me a .29 cent deoderant but apparently a lot of other people thought the same thing :)
This afternoon, Abby and I are going to see the Cinderella play downtown. She's SO excited! Me too. It will be fun to have some girl time :)

Albertsons Ad starting tomorrow
Here are some deals to be had starting tomorrow at Albertsons!
Eggs large, 1 dozen, first 2 $1.19
Select GM cereals and fruit snacks, for each 4 you buy, they are $1.50. If you buy less than 4, they are $2.50. There are some $1/3 and .50/1 coupons out there too for a smokin' deal.
There are a bunch of Kraft items that are 'Save $3 when you buy $10'. In the past, these have been cumulative, meaning $6 off if you buy $20, etc. I'm planning to pick up a TON of Jello Pudding (our go to dessert) for .70 a box. Maybe a few other things.
From my super sneaky secret website.

Sometimes shopping is frustrating!
So yesterday I went and got as many Glade Oil Warmers as I could. With coupons, they were BOGO and there was a $4 on your next order printed for each one. So doing the math, they are 4.49 at Albertsons. Use a BOGO coupon, pay 4.49 and get $8 in coupons back, so a 'profit' of 3.51 per set of 2. So I went to the last store around and it only printed off ONE $4 coupon for 12 warmers. They called Catalina and they had decided to limit the catalinas to one per transaction. So that sucked. The manager was really great though, in spite the tantrums that Aaron and I were throwing. So, we walked out empty handed. Bummer. I still ended up with about $40 in free groceries though, so I'll stop complaining.
Next stop, my regular Albertsons. I had 2 rainchecks I needed to fill. I had a pocket full of the $4 OYNO coupons, some from Albertsons, some from Safeway. I got my 50 bags of Hershey's chips and my 10 packs of paper plates. Oh, and my 4 12 packs of Dr. Pepper (more on that ina minute). I'm checking out and she tells me they won't take the ones from Safeway. I was JUST told at the other Albertsons that they would, they just don't take the Walgreens ones.
So here is their logic. Its a catalina coupon with the Safeway logo. Mind you, the EXACT same coupon as the Albertsons one, aside from the different logos. But they can't take it because its a catalina from another store, as they don't get reimbursed for them. Mmmmkay. I gave her a friendly reminder that they do take competitor coupons (last time I checked, they didn't get reimbursed for those). She said (and her asst. Mgr agreed) that they don't take competitor coupons that are manufacturer coupons. HUH???? Wha? I'm not understanding here. So you don't take competitor coupons that are from the competitor's store, because they are manufacturer coupons, which you do take? OK.
At the Asst. Mgr's urging, I called the 877 number when I got home, so that they could agree with her. Well, they agreed with me. I made it very clear to both parties that I simply wanted to know what the policy is so that I can comply. And that its frustrating to be told something at one store and the opposite at another. How about some consistency, people!
Ok, rant over. Here are the deals of the day.
Hershey's baking chips, I had a raincheck for 50 bags for .70 (thanks to my fabulous sister)
Dixie plates, 1.40 each
Dr. Pepper 12 packs were B3G1F (this goes GREAT with Southern Comfort)
Hershey's x 50 = $149.50
Dixie Plates x 10 = $44.99
Dr. Pepper x 4 = $25.56
TOTAL $220.05
- $114.50 Hershey's Raincheck
- $30.90 Dixie Raincheck
- $3.50 Dixie coupons (10 x .35/1)
- $13.56 Dr. Pepper sale
- $3.00 Free 12 pack
- $28 in Glade $4 OYNO (overage from the Glade deal)
GRAND TOTAL $26.59 plus a $5 OYNO from the Dr. Pepper. So I saved 88% not counting the Dr. Pepper Catalina.
So on the Dr. Pepper, I think it also includes A&W and Sunkist? Anyway, Its Buy 3 Get 1 Free this week. They are $3 each on sale. So you buy 4, $12. Take off the Free one, you walk out paying $9. BUT you also get a $5 OYNO catalina for buying $15 worth of Dr. Pepper. Nice, huh?
Another deal this weekend. Cake Mix at Safeway!!! I need some, so this is good for me. Well, a normal person probably wouldn't NEED any, but I feel pretty naked since I only have about 10 in the pantry, some spice cakes, lemon and butter pecan. NO chocolate or yellow. With a $10 purchase, you can get 10 for .58 cents each this Saturday and Sunday! So, I will just take my little catalinas that Albertsons wouldn't take and go spend them at Safeway on cake mix and chicken breast.

I'm tired
I feel like I've been running like crazy! First I did all the apple butter. Then finally took a shower, right before Abby was due home. I usually get her off the bus, but I called Pete and asked him to. They get home and said they had to chase the bus down, because she forgot her coat. Except she didnt' forget it in the bus afterall, she thinks its at school. Grrrrreat.
So off we go, Abby, Matthew and I to his 1 year well check. At 13 months, he still doesn't weigh 20lbs yet, my little man. Everything checked out fine. Off to Walgreens we go.
Here is what we got:
3 Robitussin 3.99 each
Lypsyl chapstick, 2.99
L'Oreal lotion, 16.49
Rimmel Foundation, 7.49
Energy Drink thing, 3.99
Pepto Bismol 6.49
Total $49.42
- $2/1 Robitussin x3
- $1/1 L'Oreal
- $1/1 Rimmel
- $4.50 RR x2
- $5/25 Walgreens Coupon
Subtotal $22.92 +tax + $10 RR for buying the 3 Robitussin
I'll submit for rebates totalling $37.72 ... More free stuff!
On to Yokes for .79 apples. I needed more since Greenbluff only had the one kind. Usually they have a lot more different types. So I got some Jonagold, Gala and Granny Smith to use with my Empires for applesauce and pie filling, maybe more apple butter.
Its now 3:45 and we jet over to Abby's school. Just in time! Her teacher is just leaving. Sure enough, her coat is there! Thank goodness! Now she will be warm once again. Then we went home.
Now the kids are being put to bed by dad. We're all packed for tomorrow. I need to load the dishwasher and then I can plant my rear on the couch downstairs for the evening. For some reason, I really love sitting on the couch, cross stitching and watching my shows in the fall.
